| Industrial Liaison Office Activities
Spin-Offs
The ILO supports feasibility studies of projects by evaluating the necessary steps to develop them and render them operational. It prepares models of company statutes and social agreements. It furnishes contractual transactions of the relationships between the university and its spin-offs. It promotes workshops between the University and corporations, and encourages entrepreneurship in the academic community.
Contracts
The ILO conducts negotiations for drawing up contracts and program agreements for scientific and educational collaborations, research activities, consultations and training. It manages intellectual property in commissioned research. It provides support in negotiations on patent transfers, licensing, and secrecy contracts.
Royalties
The ILO provides legal assistance and support in the custody, management, and economic utilization of intellectual property and copyrights.
Patents
The ILO manages intellectual property, evaluates and prescribes the best strategy for its protection. It examines the concrete possibilities of commercial and industrial uses for patents, and conducts market analysis. It gives assistance in preparing applications for patents and the subsequent management of the same. Finally, the ILO manages relationships with national and international patent agencies.
Patents and spin-offs
The University of Milano - Bicocca is currently partner to seven spin-off companies managing a portfolio of 28 patents.
