The Department is located in Building U8 in Monza, but some disciplines (hygiene and psychology) are located in Villa Serena. Assistance and clinical research are arranged in the San Gerardo Hospital and within the SSUEM 118 Brianza.
The type of research activity is mainly biological-medical, but also epidemiological and clinical.
During the academic year 2006-2007 more than 200 articles were published in international IF magazines, in addition to many monographs.
Clinical and Preventive Medicine: scientific activity concentrates on clinical research, particularly in the field of chronic-degenerative and cardiovascular diseases, metabolic malfunctions, cancer research for adults and children, molecular biology, epidemiology and biostatistics.
Scientific cooperation at an international level is wide-ranging thanks to participation in research programmes funded by the European Commission.
Results of research are made known through publications, events, collaboration with national and international partners and with patents.
