| Studying and living in Italy is a great opportunity to get to know this small but very interesting country. The first big surprise is the varied landscape that stretches from the snow peaks of the Alps in the north to the Mediterranean sea in the south, an ample variety of natural landscapes and historic and archaeological sites in just 1,800 Km. 2,500 years of history have left their mark on hundreds of small villages: 60% of the world's historical artistic heritage is in Italy and there are 41 UNESCO world heritage sites UNESCO. Everywhere there’s a museum, cathedral, artistic masterpiece or historical garden worth remembering. With this solid tradition, Italy faces the challenges of globalisation with a sure footing. The most famous Italian brand is Ferrari but Italian corporations top the ranks in fashion, design, textiles, ceramics, machine tools, robotics, naval and aerospace engineering. Design and quality are the hallmarks which put Italy among the world's biggest exporting nations. Research, quality, and eco-friendliness also characterise the world-renowned agro-industrial sector. Besides the products of the industrial age, Italians have given the world ideas, talents, and a unique way of life. Living in Italy is an opportunity to experience this first-hand.
