| In order to facilitate and strengthen bilateral relations between Italy and China, an agreement was drawn up by both countries which led to the establishment of a Joint Government Committee to encourage Chinese students to come to Italy and study. Following this, the Marco Polo programme was developed by Italian higher learning institutions in order to increase the number of Chinese students enrolled in Italian universities. Aims and length The course will be for beginners and carried out prior to academic studies. It will allow the student to reach the B1/B2 level of ability in the Italian language, as indicated in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The course will consist of 560 hours (6 months) of teaching activity and take place in different Universities and recognized Institutions. After passing the final test in September 2010, Chinese students will be enrolled in our University: 158 places are available to students in different courses and faculties.
