11 November 2011 to 8 February 2012
Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Roma
Homo sapiens - The history of human diversity
The exhibition
, managed by Telmo Pievani and Luigi Luca Cavalli Sforza, traces the fascinating journey of human evolution from the beginning of the genus Homo to the many emigrations from Africa and the recent cohabitation of different human forms.
The exhibition presents the appearance of Homo sapiens in Africa and the extent of his planetary diffusion, reconstructed through gene, population and language family trees.
The exhibition will be interdisciplinary, with numerous original and ancient artefacts (fossils, works of art, documents) coming from all over the world, moldings, 3D models and the reconstruction of hominids and extinct animals, spectacular landscapes, historical photographs and maps prepared by De Agostini, and, for children, hands-on interactive workstations to learn while playing
On the occasion of the Exhibition, Palazzo delle Esposizioni will be holding a full programme of meetings.
