Twelve grants for EU and non-EU students will be allocated for the academic year 2011/2012, in the context of the SMART Program funded by the Foundation Cariplo, in order to carry out a research period of 10 weeks in a biomedical laboratory at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
Laboratory attendance will take place during the period from May 7 to July 31, 2012.
For each successful candidate a tutor will be selected from the University of Milan-Bicocca, under whose supervision the student will develop a research project by collecting and analyzing data and finally illustrating the results in a short report.
EU and non-EU foreign students can compete for the SMART grant if they hold a bachelor's degree (undergraduate) in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and are regularly enrolled in a Master of Science (postgraduate / Master Degree). EU and non-EU foreign students enrolled in the third year of a single-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery (Long-Cycle Degree) may also compete. The requirements must be fulfilled by the deadline for submission of the application form. Italian citizens are not eligible for selection.
