Program | The course offers an introduction to the field of research on education and learning, based on a general presentation of the history of the discipline, the main pedagogical theories and models of research, and research communities (scientific societies, journals, conferences) in Italy, Europe and worldwide. Due to the complexity of the field, and fragmentation of the pedagogical landscape, the course can only be introductory and aimed at orienting the students in the diversity of epistemologies, theories, contexts, and communities of researchers. Each student will need to position her/himself in relation to the field, in an active, reflexive and critical way. |

Program | The course offers an introduction to psychological research, based on the presentation and analysis of research projects in the different psychological areas that are present in the Department and in the PhD course. The course also profits from the presence of hosts and visiting professors who will discuss their approach to research with the students. |

Program | The workshop is aimed at a basic methodological understanding of the diverse paradigms, approaches, methods, and instruments that are used in pedagogical sciences. Each meeting is devoted to one or more research projects, presented by colleagues from the Department, with a specific attention for qualitative and interpretative studies, as well as mixed methods. The link between research questions, context and research design. A critical and reflexive attitude will be required, as well as reading and analysing research papers. Due to the wideness of the topic, this can be only intended as an introductory and orientating course, and each student will need to reflect and position her/himself in relation to the methodology, and epistemology, of her/his choice. |

Program | The workshop is aimed at acquiring basic methodological skillsin psychological research. Each meeting is devoted to present and discuss one or more research projects, by colleagues from the Department and beyond,with a specific attention for the methodological aspects of research design.Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods are presented, as well as some basic statistical knowledge. |
