Not attending students
The course will present and analyse the legal framework that applies to refugees, asylum seekers, forced migrants and internally displaced persons. The course contemplates the participation of external experts.
The following topics will be addressed:
- the sources of international refugee law
- definitions and distinctions between different categories;
- international protection
- the prohibition of refoulement
- procedural aspects
- forced migration by sea
- the protection of internally displaced persons
- environmental refugees
Reading lists will be distributed in advance of the seminars. Material will also be distributed during the seminars.
