Biografia
Matteo Fossati è professore associato di Astronomia e Astrofisica presso il dipartimento di Fisica "G.Occhialini". Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca con lode all' Universita' Ludwig-Maximilians di Monaco di Baviera con una tesi sul ruolo dell'ambiente nella formazione stellare delle galassie a redshift ~1-2. Dopo ulteriori esperienze di ricerca in Germania e Regno Unito e' rientrato in Italia all'Universita' di Milano-Bicocca. Si occupa della formazione ed evoluzione delle galassie attraverso le epoche cosmiche in funzione dell'ambiente locale e del gas circum-galattico. E' membro (con ruoli di leadership) di varie collaborazioni internazionali incluse Euclid, WEAVE, VESTIGE, e KMOS3D.
